Match Report
Bishop Wordsworth's School 1st XV vs  Salisbury RFC R4R 10s
On: Saturday, 26 Sep 2020
Venue: Away

The 1XV playing in their first of hopefully more matches this season had an intriuging group to navigate. First up were Salisbury Vets who although a little longer in the tooth boasted bags of experience, but the BWS boys had the edge to take a bonus point win 4-0. A draw with Salisbury B set up a tasty encounter with Amesbury A stacked with Fijian talent. A rather physical affair saw BWS come out on top 2-0. This win earned BWS top spot in the group and a place in the Cup semi finals. Unfortunately Salisbury A were the opponents who after a poor group stage regrouped and with one fortunate turnover score they secured their final spot with an electric finish down the left wing. The 1XV knew it wasn't their best and made amends in their final game against Salisbury B with arguably their best score of the day all the way from left to right for a great team score playing the kind of rugby they finished the 2019/20 season with and finishing 3rd overall. Not the result we wanted, but as always masses learnt for next time.
